It was introduced in 1965 in a Chennai hotel due to which it is known as Chicken 65. Nevertheless, there were some people who believe that it contains 65 spices due to which it is called Chicken 65. Still, we cannot say anything from our side, but we can tell you the recipe. It is mouthwatering and amazing in every way so try it out.

  • 500g boneless chicken
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 egg


First of all, you have to take a big bowl and add yogurt in it. You also need to add red chili powder, ginger and garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, black pepper and coriander powder. Mix all these ingredients properly.

Furthermore, you have to take the boneless chicken and cut it into small pieces. You have to marinade it and mix properly. Store this chicken for minimum 3 hours or you can let it rest in the mixture for one night. In this way, the chicken will properly grab the flavor of spices.

On the next very day, you have to take a separate bowl and then add one egg in it. You have to add marinated chicken in this egg bowl and add corn flour. Mix all these things well so that the chicken gets coating of corn flour, lime juice and egg.

Now, you have to take a deep pan and put it on heat to fry the chicken. Add oil in it and when it becomes hot then you have to add chicken pieces one by one. You have to fry chicken pieces until they become golden brown as well as crispy. If you get the perfect texture, then put the fried chicken on a paper towel. In this way, the excess oil will be drained from the chicken pieces.

Moreover, you have to take another pan and put a little bit of oil in it. Put some curry leaves and green chilies in it. You have to sauté it properly for around a minute. It is the time to add fried chicken into the pan and then toss it with the curry leaves and green chilies properly. Your homemade chicken 65 recipe is ready! But….wait a minute…. you have to put chopped coriander leaves on it for garnishing. Now, it is ready to serve!
